Nemours Children’s Health Philadelphia Kids Run

Overview

B-Side Events served as the lead event production partner for the Philadelphia Kids Run, presented by Nemours Children’s Health, during Philadelphia Marathon Weekend.

The event brought together children and families for a multi-day, city-wide experience focused on movement, health, and community. Our role spanned planning, design, and full on-site execution across multiple venues and touchpoints, including the marathon expo, Kids Run course, and the Kids Zone experience at Eakins Oval.

The Challenge

Producing a children-focused event at city scale comes with unique challenges:

  • Multiple event days across different locations.

  • Large volumes of families and children moving through the experience.

  • High safety expectations and operational precision.

  • Brand visibility that needed to feel welcoming, not commercial.

  • A live environment that had to balance energy, clarity, and calm.

Nemours and the City of Philadelphia needed a partner who could execute with confidence, protect the brand, and create an experience families would actually remember for the right reasons.

Our Role

B-Side Events led end-to-end event production, including:

  • Production strategy and on-site execution

  • Experience flow and guest journey design

  • Kids Zone layout and activation planning

  • Vendor coordination and production logistics

  • Staffing, show flow, and run-of-day management

  • On-site leadership across all event days

We acted as the connective tissue between the brand, City of Philadelphia, vendors, and audience.

The Experience

Philadelphia Marathon Expo Activation

The Kids Run experience began at the marathon expo, where families checked in, engaged with the brand, and built anticipation for race day.

Our focus:

  • Clear flow for families and strollers

  • Brand visibility without congestion

  • Friendly, intuitive touchpoints that reduced stress and confusion

This set the tone for everything that followed.

Race Day: Philadelphia Kids Run

Children of all ages participated, supported by parents, volunteers, and staff, all within a high-energy marathon weekend environment.

Key priorities:

  • Safety and clarity at all times

  • Efficient staging and start/finish operations

  • Calm, confident production leadership on the ground

  • A celebratory atmosphere that still felt controlled
